Night Shift Autism interviewed Michael Conteh, BCBA and co-founder of Parent Empowerment Coaching, to discuss the importance of culturally responsive collaboration between parents and BCBAs. They explored how to develop treatment goals that honor family values and traditions while empowering parents with essential skills for long-term caregiving.

Michael Conteh is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and PCC Certified Coach with over 20 years of experience working with children and adults on the autism spectrum. Since beginning his work with children in 2000, he has dedicated his career to coaching parents on how to best support their children. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2009, Michael also holds a Black Belt certification in Lean/Six Sigma, specializing in project management. As a PCC-certified coach, he provides executive coaching to high performers and individuals seeking balance. He served as the CEO of a multi-million-dollar company for 13 years, where he demonstrated strong leadership in overseeing daily operations, training management teams, and supervising personnel. Throughout his career, he has worked with over 1,000 families and trained more than 1,000 staff members in working with children with autism and other special needs. His training programs have helped over 30 professionals become BCBAs, with that number continuing to grow. Michael is also an expert in business consulting, utilizing the Organized Behavior Management (OBM) model and Six Sigma process management to improve onboarding, retention, and staff motivation in small and mid-sized companies.
